Julia Tyson Snyder, DDS, D. ABDSM

Dentist

Julia Tyson Snyder is a native North Carolinian and now happily serves the High Country. She grew up in Monroe, NC before attending college. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, minoring in Chemistry. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery, DDS, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, graduating with Honors and Distinction.

Dr. Snyder is passionate about all things dentistry. She has been a voting member of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry Admissions Committee for over seventeen years. She serves as a past member of the Board of Directors of WYN (the Western Youth Network) and is a Tripartite Member in Good Standing of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the NC First District Dental Society. She is also a member and past president of the Tar Heel Dental Society, the local High Country dental study club. Dr. Snyder is also a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (D.ABDSM) and takes a holistic approach to dentistry, working to provide patients with treatments for their physician-diagnosed sleep apnea. In addition to serving the High Country, Dr. Snyder also volunteers her time at community dental buses in Tennessee and North Carolina. She loves keeping up with the latest techniques and technology in dentistry to better serve her patients.

In her spare time, Dr. Snyder enjoys horseback riding, traveling and camping with her husband, BJ. She has traveled to Nepal, India, Bolivia, Guatemala, and the Amazon Jungle to provide free dental services and oral hygiene education to impoverished populations. Her family includes a rescue dog named Molly and a farm of Paso Fino horses.

 

Kelly Whiteley, DMD, FAGD

Dentist

Kelly Whiteley, DMD is a dental primary care provider at Mountaineer Dental and Sleep Center in Boone, NC. She grew up in Fayetteville, NC but frequently visited the High Country as her grandparents are Wilkes County natives.

Dr. Whiteley earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minors in Chemistry and Spanish at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, graduating with Distinction. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine with Honors at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, NC. Dr. Whiteley completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program through the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. During her residency, she gained advanced training in dental prosthetics, esthetic dentistry, dental implants, and periodontal treatment.

Dr. Whiteley is an active member of the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Association, Cerec Doctors, Spear Education, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She loves participating in continuing education courses to enhance her abilities and stay up-to-date on all of the latest dental techniques and procedures. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and two pets, Clorox and Tormund. She also enjoys reading, sewing, crafting, painting, traveling, and trying new and diverse foods.

Dr. Whiteley is dedicated to providing the highest quality dentistry by utilizing the latest dental and clinical technology. She strives to ensure patient comfort during every step of treatment and prides herself on the quality of her care and results she obtains. Dr. Whiteley, alongside the phenomenal Mountaineer Dental team, works to achieve her patients’ smile goals. Lindsey Lazarchick, DDS

Dentist

Lindsey Lazarchick is a family and cosmetic dentist at Mountaineer Dental and Sleep Center in Boone, NC. She grew up in Mobile, AL but, after living in North Carolina for over a decade, is proud to call the High Country her home. Dr. Lazarchick attended Wake Forest University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minored in Psychology. After graduation, she worked as an EMT at an urgent care center, then worked at a non-profit in Burlington that assisted adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) find jobs and develop skills. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where she nurtured her passion for helping others.

As a dental student, she held numerous leadership positions including lead dental coordinator at Wakebrook Behavioral Health Clinic, communications director for the UNC ASDA Pre-Dental chapter, and sponsorship coordinator for the UNC Craniofacial Center. Today, she’s the regional volunteer coordinator for the NC Special Olympics and volunteers with Hospitality House and the Health and Hunger Coalition. Dr. Lazarchick is an active member of the North Carolina Dental Society and the American Dental Association and enjoys honing her knowledge of the ever-evolving field of dentistry. When not working on teeth, she can be found with her husband, David; their two dogs, Lodi and Kona; and their chickens. She enjoys baking, playing with her pups, and exploring the mountains of Boone.

Dr. Lazarchick is passionate about providing the best quality care for her patients, pursuing proficiency in the latest technology, and focusing on the needs and comfort of each patient. She believes in patient-centered care and is excited to work with the exceptional team at Mountaineer Dental.

Megan Simpson, DDS

Dentist

Megan Simpson, DDS, is a compassionate and dedicated dentist at Mountaineer Dental and Sleep Center in Boone, NC. Originally from Asheville, NC, Dr. Simpson attended Appalachian State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She later pursued her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.

Dr. Simpson has a strong focus on preventive and restorative dental care, prioritizing patient education and personalized treatment plans. She is an active member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society, staying current with advancements in dental techniques and technologies to ensure the highest level of care for her patients.

Outside of her dental practice, Dr. Simpson enjoys hiking, painting, and exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband, Tom, and their golden retriever, Bailey. She values connecting with her patients and creating a welcoming environment where they feel comfortable and supported throughout their dental journey. Dr. Simpson is thrilled to be part of the Mountaineer Dental team and looks forward to serving the Boone community.
