Typically, the first appointment consists of a comprehensive new patient examination and a cleaning, depending on what cleaning you need based on your diagnosis. We will review your current situation, explain your diagnosis, and cover your treatment options. This visit is usually 1-2 hours.
You will want to bring the following information with you to the consultation appointment:
- Your referral slip, if sent to our office from another office
- A list of any medications you are taking
- Any known allergies or medical conditions
- Medical or Dental insurance card to be filed and primary subscriber’s information
- Your ID/License
Occasionally we will see new patients for limited, emergency examinations to assess an individual concern on a specific tooth. These appointments will be 1-hour evaluations of the affected tooth and patients will need to return for necessary treatment or see the recommended specialist.
If you’ve had X-rays taken in the last six months, please have your dentist forward them to us. We can have you fill out a release form and obtain them for you, but please let us know prior to your visit so we have the appropriate amount of time to request them. If there is not enough time to get them to us prior to your appointment, please make arrangements to pick them up and bring them with you to the appointment.
A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18.
If you have any questions about what to expect on your first visit, don’t hesitate to contact us today at (828) 265-1112.
